With proper permissions, the AMCIS Community Viewer gives any health care provider the ability to view the medications that a patient is currently taking. The medication list is automatically shown with the patient’s known allergies.
Community providers get access by one of two methods:
- One Time Password:
- When a patient registers on the Patient HealthPort they receive a one-time use password.
- The patient presents the one-time use password to a healthcare provider.
- The provider and/or staff member enter the password online and enter their name & phone.
- The AMCIS Community Viewer stores the provider’s computer location for security.
- The provider then selects the documents and information they are seeking and print them.
- An email is sent to the patient reminding them to get their new one-time use password.
- AMCIS Viewer:
- A known provider in the community who is sharing a patient contacts the provider’s office requesting a patient’s medical information.
- The office staff member provides them with a temporary password to the Viewer.
- The requesting staff member enters the password and selects their office from a list of referring providers.
- The requesting staff member can now view the medical records of patients shared by both offices in order to access the desired information.
