Whether you already have a billing system or not we can meet your needs.
The AMCIS Patient Care Manager can interface with your existing billing system or we can provide a new billing system for you.
When a note is generated by a provider, AMCIS identifies the most likely Evaluation and Management (E&M) Level for that appointment. The user, whether it is a provider or staff member, is shown the criteria used to select the E&M Level and the user can adjust that level as needed.
Next, the user can select the appropriate CPT code for each diagnosis code in the physician's note. This is done very quickly because:
- CPT codes associated with the patient's appointment type are already on the screen.
- Common CPT codes can be clicked quickly.
- CPT codes can be searched by name or number and easily selected.
The E&M Level, ICD9 and CPT codes are all sent to the billing system for final verification and processing.
As a result, physician encounters are coded at more accurate levels and all coding documentation is logged and available for a payer audit if such a need arises.
