The AMCIS Scheduler allows very tight controls making it easier for staff to schedule appointments accurately and quickly.
The scheduler can be used in a traditional paper-on-a-screen view where the user selects the date of the appointment first and then enters the patient and appointment information, or using the smart-scheduler view where AMCIS finds the first available date and times for the desired appointment type.
By scheduling most appointments with the smart-scheduler and using the traditional view for specials reasons, such as double-bookings, the scheduler reduces staff errors in scheduling and allows appointments to be scheduled very quickly.
Setting up the scheduler is easy and uses built-in logic so that with a few initial settings the schedule can be made. This eliminates the need for the time consuming process of inserting specific appointment types in each time slot for every day on the schedule.
With AMCIS, appointment slots can be made available and unavailable on the fly for maximum flexibility.
The days appointments can be viewed on the user's home page. In addition, the location of the patient in the office can be tracked.
Logging of changes in the scheduler is thorough. Every change made to an appointment is easy to view so a user will always know who created, changed and deleted a scheduled appointment. This eliminates the problem of a patient stating their appointment time is different from what the office has in the schedule.
The Scheduler also allows multiple CPT codes to be associated with each appointment type. This make it very easy for providers and staff to select the CPT codes that should be sent to the billing system for a patient encounter.
The AMCIS Scheduler will email patients two days before their appointment as a reminder. Patient can go online at any time using the Patient HealthPort to schedule actual appointments and view existing appointments.
