Patients find it easier to get labs drawn and to get results.
When labs are ordered for patients, they can go to the HealthPort to print their requisition and bring it to the drawing location. This is particularly helpful for patients who live far away from a doctor's office and for patients who have standing orders. It also cuts down on staff time preparing requisitions.
The AMCIS Patient HealthPort also allows patients to view labs online that have been sent to them by the provider. This provides patients with enormous satisfaction and significantly reduces calls to the office asking for results.
Once a provider has reviewed results, they can enter any message they wish and send it to the patient along with the result. This can be done whether the result is a faxed or scanned document or electronic results from a Labcorp or Quest. The patient will receive an email which informs them to login online and view their result.
